Ice Cream Cohen: Hear ye, Hear Ye!!!! Announcing the arrival of Lady Lavinia Cohen!!

Ok everybody, here is the much anticipated blog debut for Miss Lavinia Clementine Cohen, born April 30th 2010 at 3:57 pm.

We got our wish and managed to deliver this 9lb bundle of joy at home and in the birthing tub. The labor and delivery was loooooooong and difficult, contractions started at 10 am and she was born the late afternoon of the following day. The cord was wrapped around her body so she had a VERY slooow decent into my pelvis,. Susana our midwife instructed us to get out and walk to help move the baby down. Please picture Adam and I walking up our steep hill at 3 in the morning, me in the height of labor , dressed in nothing but a t-shirt a short robe and a beanie and Adam looking equally crazy carrying a bucket ( so he could sit on it to support me during an intense contraction). We were quite the sight! I am sure is any of our neighbors had seen us they would have immediately packed up and left town, good thing we live in the country. I want everybody in the world to know what an amazing man Adam is!! He was right with me, positive supportive encouraging loving the whole time. As tired as he was having no sleep for 35 hours, he never complained or let on how tired or scared he was. He was amazing. My hero, literally.

Adam, never left my side. :-) !!! I am the luckiest woman ever to have such a wonderful partner!

Things have calmed down now, my stitches are finally feeling better and I am up and walking around, feeling good and loving my sweet precious baby girl.

I want to thank everybody again for all the wonderful gifts that keep pouring in! Adam and I are so touched by all the kindness of our wonderful loving friends.
